The Rhone Valley has two distinct parts between the north and the south.
* The north is located to the south of Lyon, between Vienna and Montélimar.
Here you can find the wines of the famous Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Château Grillet, Saint Joseph, Crozes hermitage, Saint Péray and the vineyards of the Hermitage.
* The south is located on either side of the Rhone between Orange, Avignon and Nimes.
Many appellations are produced here: Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages, Côtes du Ventoux, Vinsobres, Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Lirac, the Costières de Nîmes vineyards and the prestigious Chateauneuf du Pape.
